Create your own expanding video banners in minutes!
Why should you start making Expandable Banners?
Because we all know that video ads are a lot more memorable, but they are difficult to make with regular banner sizes. How can you insert a video player with contols into a 468 X 60 or 728 X 90 Banner? You can't!
Why are expandable banners not commonplace?
Because until now creating expandable banners was not easy. They could only be made by designers working for large companies who invest a lot of time
and money with their ad campaigns. The reason is because these companies were limited to working with only a few ad serving companies capable of deploying expandable banners.
Not Anymore.
With our media kit, we give EVERYONE from individuals to small, medium and large companies the capability to create, test, deploy and track their own expandable banners without limitations.
How much is your time worth?
Even for professional developers this can take DAYS or even WEEKS to create.
You can be up and running in MINUTES.
Who is this for?
Our media kit is perfect for any web or graphic designer who wants to take banner designs to the next level.
It's also perfect for a large company websitse that want to integrate expandable banners as part of their campaign. Only a basic level of HTML, Graphic Design and Flash is required.
With our media kit
You don't need a big serving company to serve the banners, you can host all files on your website.
You can customize the dimensions to anything you want.
(728 X 90 expand to 728 X 500) (125 X 125 expand to 300 X 300) (120 X 600 expand to 400 X 600)
You can customize how it opens (Rollover, Rolloff, or, click to close)
You can customize the direction it opens (Left, Right, Center, Up, Down)
They use a combination of HTML, Flash and Javascript. You can use any version of actionscript in your flash.
Compatible with IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera for both PC & Mac, & Mobile devices.
Supports browser resizing.
These banners overlap content, not to be confused with pushing content down. (Interested in Push Down Banners? Check out our new website www.pushdownbanners.com )
You will need to create 2 different banners, one in the original size and another in the larger expanded format.
There is no limit to how many banners your can author and publish.
Easily add a ‘clickTAG’ to the expanded version banner to track its click-through progress using third party software.
(You must have access to change the HTML of the page the banner will appear on)
The tutorial is commented and very easy to understand.
Will be useful for many future generations of web browsers. If there is a future problem we will fix it.
How it works
When you rollover or click the banner whichever you choose, a new DHTML layer appears with the new expanded banner showing. When you Rolloff or click a close button, the DHTML layer disappears and reveals the original banner. You may also set a timer (in the flash file) allowing for a smooth closing transition.

All you need to do is change 3 things:
1. Change the location of your banner files.
2. Your banners dimensions.
3. The direction it will expand to. (up, down, left, right, center)
Usability
Our Media Kit uses HTML, CSS, Flash and JavaScript.
There are two banners you must create, one in the original state and a second in the expanded state.
The JavaScript is professionally coded and will not interfere with other javascripts you may have running on the same page.
(eg. JavaScript menu, tooltips, jquery tools, etc.) - Click here to see the javascript element example.
The flash element that overlaps the website content disappears after it closes. Leaving nothing to interfere with the usability of the website.
Only one line of ActionScript is required and you can use ActionScript 1, 2, or 3
Changing the dimensions and the direction is done with 1 text change.
Banner tracking systems
Tested on a regular basis and is confirmed to work with: DART, Adtech, OpenX, Open Ad Stream and other banner tracking systems. As long as you can edit the HTML for the banner in your system our Media Kit will work for you.
If you are using a banner tracking system different than the ones mentioned, our developers will try our best to integrate the Media Kit into whatever system you are using.
All you will need to do is add a clickTag to the Expanded Banner to track the Click-throughs.
Browser compatibility
Tested on a regular basis and is compatible with all the latest versions of the most popular browsers for Mac P.C. and Linux. ![]()
Compatible with Adobe Flex and Air Applications.
![]()

(Only the image to image works on the iphone because they do not support flash)
Limitations
1. You must add two lines of JavaScript to the top of the page where the banner will be displayed.
2. You can only have 1 Expandable Banner per page.
3. Not compatible with iFrames.
If your banner tracking system uses iFrames to display your banners, current and future upgrades of our media kit will not be compatible.
